Gap Matenrity Clothes

Knowing that most expectant mothers would like to dress the same was as they did before they became pregnant; the popular San Francisco based specialty- clothing retailer Gap entered the maternity market with its launch of Gap Maternity in May of 2000.  The goal of Gap Maternity was to provide mothers with fresh fashion options that were alternatives to the typical, stereotypical unfashionable maternity clothes.  Gap Maternity was first introduced online at Gap.com but has expanded to select babyGap stores.  Gap Maternity carries many of the current Gap styles, but custom-designed for the changing body of an expectant mother.  The Gap Maternity was an instant success, starting out with 16 styles and growing to over 300.  The Gap Maternity line has increased, but the Gap Maternity prices are still within the range offered for other Gap clothing and expected by the typical Gap customer.  Gap Maternity offers a wide selection of styles and sizes for women at all stages of pregnancy.   Gap Maternity provides a large range of maternity wear pieces and some post-partum pieces, as well. 

Knowing the individual preferences of expectant moms, Gap Maternity pants and jeans are available in five different belly panels in sizes 0-20.  Like the traditional Gap brand, the Gap Maternity line offers versatile pieces that work for all occasions.  Gap Maternity carries seasonal latest trends, active wear, roll panel style pants, nursing bras and a variety of maternity tops, some styled for easy nursing. Most of the sales for Gap Maternity items come from the website Gap.com.  The Gap Maternity inventory is frequently changing based on the season and upcoming trends. 

For the needs of the nursing mother, Gap Maternity offers various styles of nursing bras including an underwire nursing bra and a soft-cup nursing bra with a drop cup.  For expectant mothers, Gap Maternity has two selections that provide extra support while maintaining comfort.  The hidden wire bra provides full support with a seamless look and the Gap Maternity minimizer with lace bra has wide, non-binding straps and is trimmed in lace.

Several of the Gap Maternity panties coordinate or can be paired with the Gap Maternity maternity and nursing bras.   The Gap Maternity panty selection includes the under belly bikini and  the under belly thong.  A hipster panty is also offered, ideal for wear with low-rise pants.  All Gap Maternity panties are made from a cotton/spandex blend that allow breathability and support.

The Gap Maternity line has a wide range of stylish maternity shirts, sweater and tees, some of which are especially conducive to nursing moms. Gap Maternity styles such as the sleeveless wrap tie, the sweater coat, the classic shirt and the crossover empire shirt type are all examples of Gap Maternity tops and sweaters that may work well for nursing mothers.
